Treatment of armpit swelling:
First of all, it's recommended to get examined by your family doctor to assess and evaluate your condition, as there are many causes for such a condition. The treatment depends on the cause. If there is an infection, antibiotic such as Augmentin 1gm twice a day for 7 days. Painkillers such as paracetamol tablets can be used. If there is abscess, surgical drainage might be done. Tumors should also be ruled out.

Diagnostic tests:
Physical examination and history taking, CBC test which detects bacterial infection with high level of white blood cells. Mammogram can be done if there is a suspecion of breast tumor and biopsy might be done.

Causes of armpit swelling:

• Abscess
• Bacterial infections
• Fungal infections
• Lymph node inflammation
• Breast infections
• Breast tumors
• Other causes
