What is the appropriate treatment?
First of all, it' recommended to visit your family doctor to evaluate your condition as there are many causes for chest tightness and cough. One of theses causes is chest infection, and the treatment includes an antibiotic such as LEVOX 500MG once daily for 5 days, anti-cough meds such as Tussibal 10cc three times a day and Loratidine 10mg tablet once daily at bedtime. In adition to that, further investigations should be done such as ECG to rule out any heart problems, chest X-RAY and possible chest CT scan to rule out lung problems such as fiborsis.

Diagnosis:
The diagnosis is made by taking full history and clinical examination of the patient and doing investigations including blood investigations like CBC, inflammatory and infection marks ESR and CRP. Doing Chest X-ray and CT and doing PCR for viral infection.
