The process of obtaining work permits in the UAE includes some basic steps:
Enter the website of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and register using the user name and password or through the Emirati digital ID.
Choose the service for issuing a new work permit
Submit the required documents and attach them online
The application is transferred electronically for auditing through the Electronic Services Department, and the documents are returned again in the event of any lack of papers.
Send the permit electronically to the relevant authorities to obtain all other approvals
Successfully complete the electronic payment process to issue the work permit
Conditions for issuing a work permit
The applicant for a work permit must fulfill some basic conditions to obtain initial approval for the work permit in the Emirates, or complete the process of issuing it in general, which are:
The applicant must be over 18 years old - unless it is a work permit for a juvenile or training for a student -
There is agreement between the profession in which the applicant works and the nature of the Authority’s work
The establishment's license must be valid and there must be no violations
The worker must meet the required conditions with regard to specialized professions, or any other jobs that require obtaining a license to practice the profession
The request to issue the permit must be submitted by the entity legally responsible for signing the facility.
The Ministry may also refrain from issuing or renewing a UAE work permit in the following cases:
Submitting incorrect documents
The facility is fictitious or does not carry out its activity
Failure to comply with the wage protection system, or any other systems adopted to regulate the labor market in the country.
