Social phobia is a kind of vague disorder, in which a person feels scared while sitting in a group or if he feels that he is the focus of attention for everybody. Therefore, symptoms start appearing such as redness of the face, shortness in breathing, drought in the throat, sweating, a sudden need to go to the bathroom. Such state can weaken the self-confidence of those who are afraid to participating social events. The cause of this disorder may be due to family upbringing/raising manners, psychological stress, the environment surrounding the patient, or other causes or attitudes that occur in human life.
Treatment methods:
First, you have to face your fears, the success and timing of you getting rid and recover from this disorder depends on your will and determination toward process.
Face your fear that you feel the phobia during, reconcile with yourself and be convinced and confident that you are a normal person like others and there is nothing in you for laugh or mock about.
Confront your fears, close your eyes and imagine that you sit in a comfortable and quiet place with your eyes closed and start thinking about situations you afraid of or feel embarrassed from, and then start handling them and confront them in your imagination, and during this, try to overcome the tension that controls you and especially the feelings of fear that you will feel during this exercise. But, you have to do this exercise several times and continue with training, you will feel better with time because these feelings will cool you down and gradually will disappear.
When you apply this exercise, you will find that you begin to trust yourself and your abilities. Also, do relaxation exercises and deep breathing. You can watch some videos on YouTube on how to do such exercises. You also can use a trusted friend and to help you get through those fears, as he/she will listen to you and what you say. The, in the next time, you can use two friends; you can say a speech in front of them. Along with training, you will find that you started being able to face your fears and control your emotions. Then, gradually, you will be able to meet others with full confidence and talk to them clearly and participate in group activities such as seminars, sports club, collective psychological support sessions that in turn will help you to make many friends and learn the courage to speak fluently without fear.
If you continue to have these fears, you can go to a psychiatrist to help you in a pharmaceutical method through prescribing some medications for yourself.
