Netflix broadcast features on supported devices include the following:

Supported areas

Netflix is available worldwide and most devices will display Netflix content wherever the service is available, but some older devices will display content only in the country where they were purchased. See the supported areas map for details. If you're considering buying a new device, please check with your manufacturer to see if they support Netflix in your area.

Older versions of devices may prompt you to go to netflix.com/activate to set up your device. These Netflix devices support only the United States and Canada.

Browsing

On most devices, Netflix lets you browse rows of groups of TV shows and movies, including a row dedicated to your list choices. Each row contains a category (comedy, drama, TV shows, etc.) that we give you based on what you're used to watching.

Older devices may not contain category rows, but they allow you to scroll through my list, which you can create using the Netflix Web site.

Precision

Most devices have the ability to stream Netflix with high resolution through fast Internet connections and will display Netflix content at maximum supported resolution (see Internet Connection Speed Recommendations for more information).

Translation and alternative sound

Learn how to enable translation, annotations, and alternative sound (including surround sound 5.1) available in many movies and TV shows. To verify that your device supports the 5.1 sound system, go to any of the "Native Netflix Works" and make sure the 5.1 sound option is available. If this option is not available, this means that your device does not support this feature. Many devices will let you customize the format of your translation and annotations. Devices that do not support customization will not display subtitles and annotations in their default format, or may be ineligible for translation.
