I am feeling very empty. My husband and best...
I am feeling very empty. My husband and best friend died a month apart three years ago. I suppose I coped at the time but I can’t see a purpose in my life anymore. I also have endometriosis so I spend a lot of my time on physical pain. What can I do?
Assistant: Have you sought out therapists or counsellors about this before? ...or tried anything else?
I did take antidepressants for a while

Your husband and best friend's death shocked you and extremely affected your life and led you into a state of sadness, frustration and loss of life pleasure which may indicate a state of depression
And its symptoms are:- Lack of interest in things you love and enjoy -Sleep disturbance (sleep for long hours or the opposite) -
Isolation and unwillingness to attend social events
- A marked change in appetite may be a change in the increase or decrease and affect the weight -
A constant sense of fatigue - Mood swings and anger
- The feeling of constant sadness even if someone attempts to relieve you
- The feeling that your life is aimless and meaningless
- Feeling of despair and helplessness, leading to panic attacks and continuous crying
- Loss of desire for life and the emergence of suicidal thoughts
Therefore, if you notice these symptoms, it indicates that you are very depressed and requires the use of a psychiatrist to describe for you the treatment (it reduces the feelings of sadness and frustration). Psychotherapy is also a cognitive behavioral therapy to modify negative thoughts and help you cope with your problems.
You can reduce this feeling by following these tips:
-Exercise to get rid of negative energy and rejuvenation
-Change your lifestyle and discharge energy towards hobbies and doing your favorite things
-Talk to people who are close to you
-Organizing the day and managing time relieves the feeling of stress
-Take care of your day and make it full of daily activities and do not leave room for emptiness in your life
You can get away from this situation with a strong will, you have to overcome your situation and avoid thinking about the past because it will not return even though the loss of your loved ones is hard, but this is the year of life, so try to live your life and make it full of work and engage people so that you can overcome this crisis
