i am a very confused person...i am 19...i dont know what i like what i want who i am or anything about myself.can you help me?
Assistant: Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking?
my parents see mental illness as something non existent but yes 3-4 years back i used to be a self harm addict and i used to be on medications and my parents just stopped it because they thought it wasnt helping...i was in deep depression for 2 years and now i am kind of getting back to normal
Assistant: Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know?
i used to have anorexia 4-5 years back

We would like to inform you that depression is a mental illness that may be due to frequent exposure to problems and stress or exposure to severe trauma, as well as may be due to the presence of genetic or neurotransmitter brain transport and symptoms of the disease:

- Isolation and avoid social communication with surrounding people.

- Sleep disorders (insomnia or sleep too much)

Anorexia

- Feeling of sadness and constant frustration even in the attempts of the surrounding to alleviate it

- Feeling of insignificance in life and low self-perception

- Anxiety and irritability of the slightest things as well as the anxiety of most situations

- Feeling despair and helplessness and getting depressed and crying continuously

- Loss of interest in things you loved and enjoyed

- Complaint of the presence of the body without the presence of an organic cause

- Sense of exhaustion and tiredness of the least effort

- Mood swings and anger

- Finally, the symptoms worsen to the point of wanting to get rid of life and try to commit suicide

 

There are some tips that help to reduce the feeling of depression:

- Regular exercise will save you from negative energy.

- Put negative thoughts aside and think positively.

 - meet with close friends and exchange visits with them 

- Avoid drinking stimulants such as coffee and others as they increase anxiety and replaced with soothing beverages such as green tea and chamomile

- Trust and develop your self-confidence and discover the points of your strength and exploit them. Also, do the positive things you love.

- Organize your life and make a daily plan for all the tasks required from you, it reduces the sense of pressure greatly.

- Treat your problems as they will not continue, and you have to face them with challenge and patience, there is no problem without a solution.

- Be close to Allah when you perform your duties, because Allah is the one who set the soul and heart at rest.
