How can I gain weight?
- Try protein smoothies to consume extra calories like chocolate banana nut shake (Combine 1 banana, 1 scoop of chocolate whey protein and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of peanut or another nut butter)
- Use a big plate to trick yourself into eating more.
- Try to choose one of these healthy sources of starchy carbs on each meal, Quinoa, Oats, Corn,, Buckwheat, Potatoes and sweet potatoes, Squash, Winter root vegetables, Beans and legumes
- Eat nuts suc as almonds, walnuts, cashews, ,sprinkle on salads, cereal, yogurt, or smoothies
- Add nut butter: peanut, almond, cashew to smoothies, sauces, or oatmeal
- Add Oils as desired when cooking or seasoning
- Eat more frequently during the day rather than two or three large meals
- focus on gaining muscle, aim for 20 to 30 minutes of moderate intensity daily for overall health
