Symptomes and treatment of Syphilis 
Syphilis is considered one of the sexually transmitted diseases that are caused by a bacteria T.pallidum, it infects the genital tract to manifist as genital ulcers and raised papules that are considered as primary syphilis that heal within 8 weeks, 2-10 wks later secondary syphilis developed to manifist as diffuse skin rash and genirtal warts, if not treated tertiary syphilis can develop years after resoultion to manifist as neurological syphilis of motor imbalance and dementia in addition to chest and back pain. Syphilis is treated mainly using Benzathin penicillin g 2.4 M IM injection every week for 3 weeks . Treatment failure is defined as occurance of symptomes or more that double increase of VDRL titer 12-24 m after therapy, the penicillin dosing is repeated .and a cnsultation of an STD speciallist is advised 
Investigations 
After proper phyiscal exam, cbc should be done to detect any rise in WBC, VDRL titer should be measured , LP should be done to detect neurosyphilis , confirmation using FTA ABS testing
