What is sarcoma and what's the treatment ?
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that has several sub types and can arise from various tissues such as the bone and skin and other connective tissues. Treatment for sarcoma varies depending on sarcoma type, location and other factors. Usuallly treatment relay on surgery, and it can be followed by Radiotherapy, chemotherapy could be used as well in certain types
Diagnosis:
It can be diagnosed by visiting the doctor and doing the necessary tests, one of the important test is the MRI , to evaluate the mass and surrounding structure as well as to examine its spread to other tissues such as lung and liver. The mass would also ne sent for histopathological evaluation.
Signs and Symptoms
If the mass in the upper limb arise from the bone or skin it would be like firm round mass , it may or may not be painful, other symptoms would include:
- Weight loss
- Abdominal pain
- Easily fracture
- Fatigability
- Others
