What is the treatment for syphilis?
The treatment of syphilis is determined according to the stage the disease has reached.
Treatment in the first and second stage of the disease are as follows:
A single intramuscular penicillin injection of 2.4 million units
Benzathine penicillin G 2.4 million units IM in a single dose
Treatment in the early latent phase is the same as before, while the late latent phase is as follows:
3 Injections of penicillin 2.4 million units, between each injection and the other one week apart
There is no effectiveness of penicillin in the form of syrup or capsules for drinking, but it is effective only in the form of injections and it must be of the Benzathine type
