Innestigation 
After proper physical exam the oral cavity should be inspected to look for cleft palate and the degree of cleft, Chest CT with oral contrast will diagose the type of TEF, gastroscope will diagnose any reflux of esophageal hernais 
Causes 

• Cleft palate 
• Tracheo- esophageal fistula
• Reflux disease 
• Esophageal hernia
