Melasma is a darkening or darker color of the skin that occurs frequently in pregnant women and appears more often on the nose and forehead area and usually these spots in most cases disappear on their own and need several months and in a few cases creams are treated

What are creams to remove melasma

Retinoid creams, such as tretinoin cream, which work to unify skin color and remove pigmentation by peeling the skin, but these creams need a prescription for their side effects
Steroid creams are used in special cases to whiten the skin, and they are only prohibited for a short time and with a prescription
Acid creams also exfoliate the skin and do not require a prescription, such as azelaic acid cream and Hydroquinone cream.
In severe and advanced cases and lack of benefit from local treatments, laser  can be used, which are the best option for treating melasma cases

How is the diagnosis made

Melasma cases are diagnosed clinically by the doctor, and sometimes an examination of skin spots is done to find out the content of the amount of melanin in the skin in order to confirm the diagnosis
