the treatment of acute hepatitis depends on the general condition of the patient and the severity od the inflammation as in mild cases the treatment will be supportive treatment with intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration and drugs to treat vomiting like metoclopramide and some times antiviral drugs can be given and you should avoid fatty foods and if abdominal pain appear after dicharge then you should be assessed by the physician to exclude fulminant hepatitis and the pain may be due to gastritis which could be treated with pantoprazole

how to diagnose hepatitis

liver function tests should be done to exclude the presence of very high levels of liver enzymes or the presence of high bilirubin levels in the blood
