Treatment of hypertension
Hypertension is defined as high blood pressure above 125/85 mmhg and its treated by initiating treatment using Enalapril 10 mg tab once daily that permits control of blood pressure by decreasing renin secreation. if still hypertensive the dose could be increased to twice daily and if not properly controlled you can add Amlodipine 5 mg tab once in the morning which reduce cardiac contactility. consult your family doctor if not controlled.
Investigations
After proper physical exam, ECG should be done to detect cardiac arrythmias, Ech should be done to detect signs of myocardial hypertrophy, kidney function tests Urea, Cr should be done to detect signs of kidney failure, Serum metanephrins should be done to screen for pheochromocytoma in addition to kidney US and Abdomen CT with IV contrast should be done to detect Adrenal hyperplasia and pheochromocytoma
Causes
Our advice
