Treatment of bleeding after sex
It is common complaint due to many factors and causes. It is expected to have some bleeding which is minimal after sexual intercourse. If bleeding is minimal or stopped there is no problem and you have not to do any interventions.
Investigations to do
If bleeding is recurrent, you have to do US for uterus and ovaries and cervix.
Causes
There are many causes like
- Mechanical injury to cervix
- Injury to vagina
- Sexual transmitted diseases
- Uterine problems like fibroids
- Other causes

Treatment of injury to cervix it depend on degree of injury or laceration. At most cases, there is no need to do any treatment. About sexual transmitted diseases, it depends on causative agent. You can get CEFTRIAXONE 500 mg IM injection once in addition to METRONIDAZOLE 500 mg three times daily. Fibroids it may treated conservative if the female ask for pregnancy in future or surgical removal of entire uterus if she completes her family
