Hello.. My wife is 5 weeks pregnent and covid...
Hello.. My wife is 5 weeks pregnent and covid positive. She is suffering continous dry cough and occasional breathing issues.
It is not possible to direct consultation now. One of the general doctor suggest augmentice 625 for 5 days and prospan. Could you please inform these medicins are safe during pregnency? If not please suggesr an alternative. Please help us in this crucial situation.

Management of COVID 19 infection during pregnancy
Covid 19 is a viral infection that infect respratory system to cause various symtomes, infecion during pregnancy dont carry extra risk for the pregnant or the baby and its treated primarly using Paracetamol 1000 mg tab three times a day in addition to Azithromycin 500 mg tab once daily for 3 days. The patient will get benfit from taking Vitamin C & Zinc daily supplemntation to help in symptomes releif. for cough Prospan is appropriate and safe in pregnancy . Consult a pulmonolgist in symptomes continues.
Investigations
After proper physical exam, CBC should be done to detect infection, CXR to detect infection and in high risk patients Chest CT could be done to detect any sign of pulmonary vascualr thrombosis
