Asalamualikum doc,
My name is maimona and i am.38 yrs old. I wanted to have advice from you regarding my flu which i contracted 3 days before. But i went to doctor she gave me medicine i had no fever at that time.but from 2 days i cannot smell.or taste anythng .only sweet and sour i can taste..if i go for.corona test and suppose i get positive then is it true that corona patients cant smell.or taste??forever?please reply

is your current medical condition covid ?
no its not for sure , loss of smell and taste sensation can happen in simple cases of flu and oral infections
if u get tested for covid and turns out positive , do you loss your ability to smell and taste for ever ?
no thats not right , some few rare cases didnt regain smell and taste sensation , but most patients regain thier sensations in few weeks after infection starts and can be as soon as 2 - 3 weeks
what is the recommended medications in your case ?
medications are taking according to symptoms for the time being , ibuprofen for pain and fever , anti-cough for cough, antibiotics arent needed in your case
- if you suffered from short of breath or chest pain , consult a doctor
regarding smell and taste sensation :
regarding that , its recommended to follow traning sensation method , which is using 4 different spices or smell and smell them or taste them few times aday as long as it take to regain your sensations
