Hepatitis B treatment:

  • The hepatitis B virus causes inflammation and serious infection in the liver that can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis, and loss of function. The treatment of hepatitis B depends on the degree and severity of inflammation, whether it is chronic, i.e. more than six months or acute, and the health status of the patient. In acute cases, some advice is followed, such as taking a rest, drinking fluids intensively, eating a healthy diet, and following up on your condition. In the event of any severe symptoms, you will be admitted to the hospital. In chronic cases such as yours, antiviral drugs are used such as Interferon Alpha, Tenofovir, Telbivudine to help slow down the destruction of the virus for the liver, if no response the last options in the treatment plan are liver resection and transplantation of a healthy liver from another donor

How is hepatitis B diagnosed:

  • The diagnosis is made by taking the medical history, a clinical examination and then running some tests to detect the virus in the blood such as Hepatitis B surface Antigen, if it is positive, then there is an active infection currently as a result of hepatitis B, but if it is negative, there is no Active infection from the virus, Hepatits B Core Antibody, if it is IgM positive, it means that there is an acute active infection , but if it is IgG positive, it means that there is a chronic infection from the virus or that it has been cured, If the test is negative, it means that an infection has occurred in the distant past or as a result of vaccination, Antigen E of Hepatitis B, in the event that it is positive, means that there is a large load of B virus in the body that increases the possibility of infection of others, Antibodies to Hepatitis B, If the surface Antigen is positive, it means that you have been vaccinated against the B virus, or after recovery from the virus, or the infection is chronic

Symptoms of acute hepatitis B infection:

  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • fever
  • poor appetite
  • general weakness
  • jaundice
  • muscle pain
  • Joint pain
  • the dark color in urine

Our advice:
