Hi doc how are you just wanna ask bout my sickness I'm suffering in gout my both swelling and pain for a month I'm taking pain reliever for 3 week and 5 steroids but nothing hail.any suggestion doc.

Treatment of gout:
It depends on symptoms, level of uric acid, cause of gout and general health of the patient, so, treatment include conservative managment by avoiding protein-rich food, drinking good amount of water daily and avoiding salts, treatment of the cause as renal diseases, and medications to relieve pain as colchicine 0.5 mg twice daily for 2 weeks and cataflam 50 mg twice daily, and allopurinol to decrease level of uric acid
Diagnosis of gout:
You have to visit a rheumatologist for clinical examination and investigations as Uric acid level, CBC, ESR, CRP to rule out infection, RF, Anti ccp to rule out rheumatoid, Urea, creatinine for renal diseases and Synovial fluid analysis and culture...etc
Symptoms of gout:
- Big toe pain
- Arthralgia
- Joints swelling
- Joints redness
- Foot hotness...etc
What i advise you?
To relieve pain as colchicine 0.5 mg twice daily for 2 weeks and cataflam 50 mg twice daily.
