Bilateral testicular microlithiasis

Testicular microlithiasis treatment?
Testicular microlithiasis is a condition in which small clusters of calcium form in the testicles. It can be detected on an ultrasound exam of the scrotum. It should be noted that several studies show a relationship between testicular microlithiasis and testicular cancer. But it is not clear whether having testicular microlithiasis is an independent risk factor for testicular cancer. So it's recommended to see urologist as soon as possible for further assessment and management.

Diagnosis:
History taking and physical examination to be done by the urologist. CBC, ESR, ultrasound for the testicle as well as the possibility of taking biopsy from the it.

Causes of Testicular microlithiasis:
The cause is unknown, but this condition has been associated with testicular cancer in a small group of individuals with:
- cryptorchidism
- mumps
- infertility
- intraepithelial germ cell neoplasia

Recommendation:
It's recommended to see the urologist as soon as possible for further assessment.
