Treatment of absent menses
It is common problem. Firstly, you can wait for one week as physiological absent or delayed menses is expected. If your menses does not come you can do a pregnancy test to confirm or exclude pregnancy. IF the test result is negative you can take provera tabs twice daily for five days then stop the drug to get your menses within one week of your drug
Investigations to do
You can do pregnancy test to exclude pregnancy. Prolactin level test and TSH for thyroid problems. US for uterus and ovaries
Causes of absent menses
There are many causes like
- Stress
- Physiological delay of menses
- Pregnancy
- Increased prolactin level
- Thyroid problems
