Treatment of upper stomach pain :

The treatment is being decided according to the cause of your symptoms after doing investigations and medical examination and determining  the cause and then the diagnosis and treatment are decided by the doctor .
The treatment also includes pain killers containing Paracetamol, anti acid drugs like proton pump inhibitors containing Omeprazole or Pantoprazole , H2 blockers like Famotidine or Ranitidine and antibiotics in case of bacterial infection containing metronidazole or Ciprofloxacin, in addition to the importance to avoid spicy and fried food, stop smoking and alcohol and decrease caffeine  .

Diagnosis of upper stomach pain :

The diagnosis is made by taking full history and clinical examination of the patient and doing investigations including blood investigations like CBC, inflammatory and infection marks ESR and CRP, cardiac enzymes levels, urine analysis, urine culture, stool analysis, tumor markers, doing pelvic and abdominal ultrasound, gastrointestinal and colon endoscopy, ECG, stress ECG and ECHO .

Causes of upper stomach pain :

- Gastritis 

- Gastro-oesphageal reflux disease GERD

- appendicitis 

- gallstones 

- liver or pancreatic problems 

- renal, ureteric and bladder stones

- infection 

- gastric ulcers
- muscle pain
