Treatment of menstrual irregularity  :

The treatment is being decided according to the cause of your symptoms after doing investigations and medical examination and determining  the cause and then the diagnosis and treatment are decided by the doctor .
In case of polycystic ovary syndrome, the treatment includes hormonal therapy like combined contraceptive pills and decrease weight .
In case of thyroid disfunction, the treatment includes thyroid hormone replacement therapy .

Diagnosis of menstrual irregularity  :

The diagnosis is made by taking full history and clinical examination of the patient and doing investigations including blood investigations like CBC, inflammatory and infection marks ESR and CRP, pregnancy test in blood and urine, thyroid functions, ovarian functions, estrogen and progesterone and testosterone levels and doing pelvic and abdominal ultrasound .

Causes of menstrual irregularity  :

- emotional disturbance 

- Severe weight loss 

- obesity 

- exhaustion
