Treatment of throat pain and infection:
Well, this is a common problem especially in this period of the year and mostly result from viral infection. So it's recommended to gargle with salty water twice a day, drink warm liquids such as anise and chamomile, take vitamin C and zinc tablets. If there is a fever, Paracetamol tabs can be used every 8 hours. If there is a bacterial infection which can be detected as there is a swollen lymph nodes in the neck and enlarged hypermic tosils, then antibiotic such as Azithromycin 500mg once a day for three days can be used.
Diagnosis :
Usually physical examination is enough for diagnosis in these cases. However, PCR test can be done to rule out Covid-19 infection.
