Treatment of diabetes mellitus:
Diabetes is a common and chronic disease, so the diagnosis and treatment should be done by the endocrinologist after making full assessment to your condition. The treatment plan includes several changes in your lifestyle and the beggining of a healthy diet, while reducing the intake of sugars and avoiding eating sweets and other types of highly sugars food. The prescribed medications in type 2 DM include Metformin and Sitagliptin, and in some cases insulin injections can be used.
Diagnosis ofdiabetes mellitus:
Diabetes is diagnosed by the symptoms that you are experiencing with measuring the blood sugar level, and if there are two readings for a fasting blood glucose test greater than 126 mg/dl, or a fasting glucose reading greater than 126 mg/dl with a random blood glucose reading greater than 200 mg/dl, this is evidence of having diabetes
Symptoms of diabetes:

• frequent urination
• Weight loss
• Feeling thirsty and hungry 
• fatigue
