Hi, this is asma.
My 6 months baby have high fever. I gave him panadol 1 hour ago but still the fever is there. I tried all home remedies . But he didn't get relief.

treatment:
- A high temperature is more a symptom than a disease, and it results from many causes. Therefore, the child’s condition must be evaluated in the hospital and the necessary tests should be done and then treated according to the cause, but it is not possible to leave the high temperature until the time of the doctor’s visit, so some advice must be taken. To lower the temperature, such as applying water pads on the back of the neck, under the armpit, and on the inner sides of the thigh for a quarter of an hour three times a day, loosening clothes, making a lukewarm water bath more than once, and taking Paracetamol in a dose according to its weight(20 mg/kg, 4-6 times a day ) for instance,if the child is 8 kg then he needs 160mg of paracetamol (5 ml of panadol syrup every 4-6 hours) , and if the temperature continues to rise, the doctor should be consulted
How is the diagnosis made?
- The diagnosis is made by taking a history, a clinical examination, and then running some tests such as a complete blood test to assess the white blood cell count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein that rise in infections, a chest x-ray to rule out infections, a urine test to rule out urinary tract infections. Stool examination to exclude gastroenteritis, cerebrospinal fluid examination to exclude meningitis, and other tests as shown to the doctor through the clinical examination
