What is hypoplastic left heart syndrome?
It is a complex and rare heart defect present at birth. In twhich the left side of the heart is critically underdeveloped.
Treatment of hypoplastic left heart syndrome:
It is treated through several surgical procedures or a heart transplant in addition to using many medications to improve heart function as alprostadil which helps widen the blood vessels and keeps the ductus arteriosus open...etc
Symptoms of hypoplastic left heart syndrome:
- cyanosis
- Poor feeding
- Cold hands and feet
- Rapid, difficult breathing
- Bradycardia
