Treatment of bad breath:
Anyone can suffer from bad breath. It is estimated that 1 in 4 people suffer from bad breath on a regular basis, and tooth decay and poor hygiene is one of the most common causes. The best way to reduce bad breath is good oral hygiene. This ensures that cavities are avoided and reduces the possibility of gum disease. For example, it is necessary to clean the teeth with the toothbrush and paste at least twice a day and also use the toothpicks. It is recommended that individuals visit the dentist for examination and cleaning twice a year. Your dentist may recommend using an antibacterial toothpaste or an antibacterial mouthwash. Medical cleaning may be important to remove the accumulation of bacteria in the pockets between the gums and the teeth, and it may be necessary to remove any cavities or remove the molar and make the filling to treat the problems of mouth odor and tooth decay.
Other lifestyle changes and home remedies for bad breath include:
• Brush your teeth: Make sure to brush your teeth at least twice a day, preferably after every meal.
• Flossing: Flossing reduces the buildup of food particles and plaque from between the teeth. Brushing cleans only about 60 percent of the tooth's surface.
• Pay attention to the cleanliness of the tongue, which usually accumulates bacteria, food and dead cells on the tongue.
• Avoid dry mouth by drinking plenty of water.
• Avoid onions, garlic and spicy food.
• Limit sugary foods
• Reduce your consumption of coffee and smoke.
Medical Examination:
It is important to present to the dentist for examination and evaluation, and sometimes some tests are done, which include the following:
• Halimeter: to know the level of sulfur.
• Measurement of Volatile Sulfur Compounds: hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and dimethyl sulfur.
• BANA test: It measures the levels of a specific enzyme produced by the bacteria that cause halitosis.
• Beta-galactosidase test: levels of the enzyme beta-galactosidase have been found for mouth odor.
the reasons :
Possible causes of bad breath include:
• smoking
• some types of food: Onions and garlic
• Dry mouth.
• Laziness in brushing the teeth, the teeth must be brushed once before bed and once upon waking, preferably after each meal
• Eating low-carb foods is one of the important things that cause bad breath. It causes the appearance of ketones in the breath.
• Medicines: such as nitrates used to treat angina pectoris and vitamin supplements.
• Infections in the nose, throat or sinuses can cause bad breath.
• Diseases: such as liver disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) bad breath due to the regular reflux of stomach acids.
Advice :
It is preferable to do medical exam with a specialist and do the necessary cleaning or necessary intervention, and it is also important to do the aforementioned tips and instructions.
