Treatment of ulcers:
It depends on the severity and type of ulcer, and in general management can involve taking good antibiotic as augmentin 625 mg three times daily, and you may need surgical debridment and drainage of pus and daily sterile dressing, and in difficult cases you can use hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Diagnosis of ulcers:
It deoends on the clinical examination by your doctor and investigations as CBC, ESR, CRP to detect infection and its degree, pus culture, and x-ray to rule out osteomylitis...etc
Symptoms of infected ulcer:
- Pain
- Bad smell
- Redness
- Swelling
- Pus discharge
- Fever
