What is the management
The discopathy at the level of lower lumbar and sacral vertebra cause compression of the adjacent nerve roots that will cause radicular lower limbs pain that cain be treated sympromatically using Gapabentin 75 mg cap twice daily in addition to local application of Ice gel to releive local pain. The optimal soloution is the procedure with laminectomy and disc excision with vertebral fixation to prevent further neuronal damage. Consult A neurosurgeon for surgical treatment
Investigation
Following physical exam and history taking you should do peipheral EMG to decide the level of neuronal damage in addition to Lumbosacral MRI to detect the level of spinal canal stenosis and discopathy
Symptomes
Our advice
You are adviced to consult a neurosurgeon for optimal management
