I have back pain

Treatment of the back pain :

The treatment is being decided according to the cause of your symptoms after doing investigations and medical examination and determining the cause and then the diagnosis and treatment are decided by the doctor .
The treatment also includes pain killers containing Paracetamol, non-steroidal anti inflammatory like Ibuprofen and drugs for neurological pain containing Amitriptyline, muscle relaxant and topical pain killers and topical anti inflammatory drugs containing diclofenac sodium .

Diagnosis of back pain :

The diagnosis is made by taking full history and clinical examination of the patient, neurological and muscle examination and doing investigations including blood investigations like CBC, inflammatory and infection marks ESR and CRP, tumor markers, kidney functions, liver functions, levels of pancreatic enzymes and bile salts, urine sample and doing  x-ray, CT and MRI on back and spinal cord and abdominal ultrasound .

Causes of back pain :

- muscle strain

- stress

- herniated disk

- trauma

- overuse

- nerve compression

- Worn joints

- certain diseases like osteoarthritis, meningitis or cancer
- pelvic inflammatory disease 
- urinary tract infection 
- stones
- kidney , liver or pancreatic disease
