Treatment of desmoid :

Desmoid tumor is non-cancerous growth in soft tissue, and locally aggressive. Treatment depends on tumor characteristics and the most effective treatment is local and complete removal of the tumor. The recurrence rate is considered high, because complete removal cannot be done in all cases which leads to the recurrence , so many surgeon also include other modality for treatment such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy to inhabit tumor growth. Other therapy including anti-inflammatory drugs, hormone therapies and targeted therapies

Diagnosis:

Diagnosis done by presentation to surgeon who do the physical exam and do necessary test, such as imaging like US and CT, sometimes MRI . Also in other cases you may required to go for biopsy as well.

Signs and symptoms

Depends on tumor location and size , they may include:

• notable mass
• Pain
• constipation
• vomiting
• others
