What is the treatment 
the missed period is mostly due to pregnancy and the occurance of brownish spotting is due to zygot implantation in the endometrium and the formation of the placenta and this is a normal process that should be treated with rest and consultation of an obstetrecian in case bleeding continues 
investigations 
After proper physical exam, cbc  should  be done to look for anemia , pregnancy testing using serum b hcg level to look for pregnancy and endovaginal US to look for the pregnancy sac

Irregular menses
