What is the treatment of  non-ossifying fibroma
A non-ossifying fibroma is a benign bone tumor made up of fibrous tissue, like scar tissue. It is one of many kinds of non-cancerous growths that occur for unknown reasons, They do not spread or become cancerous, and they rarely cause any symptoms at all. The tumor itself is not painful. If it grows big enough, it may cause some swelling and tenderness under your skin, especially during activities that may irritate it. the mainstry of treatment is surgical excision with bone graft and in case of recurrence , re-excision is benificial with re-grafting and in some cases local radiation . consult an orthopedic surgeon
Investigations
After proper physical exam, cbc should be done to look for signs of infection, CT scan of tibia should be done to look for character of bone cyst, MRI should be done to specify the recurrence
Complications
Bone shortening
Osteomylitis
Pathological fractures
Our advice
consult an orthopedic surgeon
