What is the treatment
The stopped menses for four months indicated several causes in case of prevoiusly well patient, at first you should be within the normal age for conception which is from 16-49 years, then if you had regular menses in the past the cause might be ovarian polycystic disease which cause hormonal imblalance and treated using compined contraceptive pills daily for 1 month to antagonise the hormonal imbalance in addition to the use of Metformin 500 mg tab twice daily and weight reduction. if having irregular menses in the past you should look for ovarian failure, consult gynecologist for further workup.
Investigations
After proper physical exam, cbc should be done to look for anemia, TSH, T4 to look for thyroid disorders, FSH, LH, Progestron ,Estrogen, should be done to look for hormonal imbalance and signs of ovarian failure, Abdominal US to look for ovarian cysts.

Delayed period :
First of all you have to exclude pregnancy as it's the most common cause for delayed period in your condition . If pregnancy tests were negative your doctor will prescribe medication such as Cidolut nor twice daily for 3 weeks and follow up your condition .

Clinical assessment and Urine pregnancy test if your period was delayed ot Blood Hcg level and US Abdomen for pregncny anc PCOs . Your doctor will order FSH , LH and TSH And Prolactine for thyroid disorders and Hyperprolactinemia .
